Abstract
The record of knowledge production at the University reflects the social impact derived from the work consolidated in classrooms, especially in a communicative context that intertwines diverse approaches within the transdisciplinary of information sciences. During the year 2024, in the Information and Communication Sciences Program of the University of Monterrey, the final projects addressed a variety of topics. In the field of research, topics were explored such as Gender stereotypes in female protagonists of contemporary Hollywood romantic comedies; The representation of young love in Anonymous (2021), A Girl of the 20th Century (2022), and Through My Window (2022); Parental control practices that parents from Nuevo León and Veracruz of the upper middle sector (C+) exercise over their children from 8 to 12 years old when consuming content on TikTok; Exposure and digital privacy: An analysis of sharing on Instagram; Narcoculture in TikTok profiles; and the Digital public relations flowchart of the Tecate Pal' Norte 2024 Festival according to its publications on the social network Instagram. In the area of creation and production, relevant topics for public discussion were addressed, with podcasts such as La nota femenina, las voces que no fueron contadas and Reinas sin coronas, as well as the development of the multimedia space “Un Paso Adelante Nuevo León”, based on solution journalism. These projects are evidence of the students' sensitivity and the maturity of their efforts to respond to contemporary challenges within the thematic lines developed in the academy.
