Abstract

Describing research on cyberjournalism contributes to studies on Digital Communica- tion because it allows to specify its theoretical, methodological, practical contributions and trends. This state of the art characterizes such process with a descriptive study, through a documentary review of academic publications, appeared in the open information sys- tem of academic publications, Dialnet and Scielo. A content analysis instrument was used, it systematizes investigated issues, contextual delimitation, methodologies and results of 69 documents. The findings show that 64% of the publications are co-authored; 2017 is the year with the most publications; 29 journals publish in Spain, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Ecua- dor and Argentina; the issues investigated are cyberjournal- ism, cybermedia and social media. It is concluded that cy- berjournalism research experiences a slight decrease due to the Covid-19 pandemic, registering a pattern of co-authored publications.
