Abstract

The article reviews, in general terms, the different dimensions of digital activism, delving
into the case related to the failed decolonization of Western Sahara. Furthermore, it
examines the evolution of this new phenomenon of social mobilization, exploring its
impact as an evasion strategy against the so-called information blockade. On the other
hand, it presents a preliminary characterization of the most relevant actors in the Twitter
environment and identifies a series of particularities of the most prominent hashtags.
